Rotomolded Products & Materials

How long does a rotomolded cooler keep ice?

In a 25°C indoor environment, a cooler filled with ice will have the ice completely melt within 5–6 days. The one-piece rotomolded construction with high-density PU foam insulation ensures excellent thermal retention.

Learn more about our process: Process Overview

What materials do you use for rotomolding?

We use high-quality polyethylene (PE) resins, primarily LLDPE and HDPE, which are food-grade, UV-stabilized, and impact-resistant. We can also source specialty materials such as cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) or custom formulations based on customer requirements.

Are your products UV stabilized and weather-resistant?

Yes. All our products are formulated with UV stabilizers to resist degradation from prolonged sun exposure. They are designed for outdoor use in demanding environments such as marine, fishing, camping, and industrial applications. Our materials also resist cracking, fading, and weathering over time.

What sizes of coolers can you manufacture?

We manufacture coolers ranging from 10QT to 150QT and beyond. Custom sizes are available upon request — we can design and build molds for virtually any dimension. Our standard catalog includes 25QT, 45QT, 65QT, 85QT, and 120QT models.

What is the wall thickness of your rotomolded products?

The plastic wall thickness of the inner and outer shells typically ranges from 3mm to 8mm, depending on the product design and application. We can adjust wall thickness distribution to optimize strength, weight, and material usage.

The total cooler wall thickness, which includes the PU foam insulation layer between the inner and outer shells, is approximately 4.5–5.5 cm (1.8–2.2 inches). This foam-injected construction delivers superior thermal insulation and structural rigidity.

What is the lifespan of a rotomolded cooler?

With proper care, a rotomolded cooler can last 10–20 years or more. The one-piece construction eliminates weak points like seams and joints, and UV-stabilized materials resist cracking and fading over time. Our products are built for long-term durability in harsh conditions.

Can you make custom inserts or dividers for coolers?

Yes. We can design and manufacture custom inserts, dividers, trays, and accessories to organize and protect contents inside coolers. These can be customized to fit specific product dimensions and storage needs.

What colors are available? Can I customize colors?

Our standard color options are available in our Color List.

Color customization: provide the Pantone code — MOQ 50 pieces per color (negotiable).

Can you match a specific color using Pantone or RAL codes?

Yes, we can match any color using Pantone, RAL, or custom color swatches. Custom color MOQ is 50 pieces per color. Just provide the code and we'll produce a sample for your approval.

Can I customize the logo on your products?

We offer multiple branding options:

  • Screen Printing – cost-effective for bulk orders ($40 plate fee for samples)
  • Labeling – flexible and fast
  • Digital Printing – high-precision graphics
  • Embossed / Engraved Logo – permanent branding, requires a new mold

What's the difference between rotomolding and blow molding?

Rotomolding and blow molding differ significantly in process, structure, and performance. For a detailed technical comparison, refer to our Rotomolding vs. Blow Molding.

What is the difference between rotomolding and injection molding?

Rotomolding produces hollow, seamless, one-piece parts with uniform wall thickness, ideal for large containers and coolers. Injection molding is faster but limited to smaller, more complex parts with varying wall thickness. Rotomolding is more cost-effective for low-to-medium volumes and larger products.

What is the production process for rotomolded products?

How are your products packaged?

  • Coolers & Tool Boxes: Detailed packaging information in our Packaging Guide
  • Insulated Fish Tubs: Shipped in bulk without individual packaging due to their large size

We also support custom packaging solutions to match your brand identity.

How durable are your products?

The one-piece rotomolded construction delivers exceptional strength and durability. All hinges, handles, latches, and closures are premium quality, selected for long-term reliability.

Our coolers are Bear Resistant Tested and built to withstand frequent use in outdoor, fishing, and industrial applications.

The seamless interior and exterior are made of food-grade LLDPE, making them easy to clean and hygienic.

Samples & Orders

Can I order a sample? What are the costs?

Yes. Samples are available at bulk unit pricing. For screen-printed logos, there is an additional $40 screen-printing plate fee.

Shipping cost depends on your address — please provide your full delivery address for an accurate quote.

Sample production time:

  • Custom colors: 10–15 days
  • Standard colors (e.g., white): 5–7 days

What is the Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ)?

  • Custom colors: MOQ 50 pieces per color
  • Other component customizations (handles, hinges, latches): typically MOQ 1,000–2,000 units
  • Embossed logos: mold fee applies, no fixed MOQ

Due to the nature of the rotomolding process (each mold produces up to 20 units per day on a 24-hour shift), larger order quantities don't significantly reduce per-unit costs — we would need to add additional molds to increase capacity.

What is the production lead time?

25–30 days after deposit confirmation and sample approval.

Monthly production capacity: approximately 20,000–30,000 coolers per month.

If my order is very large (e.g., 3,000 or 5,000 units), will the cost decrease significantly?

To be straightforward, per-unit costs do not decrease significantly with larger order quantities. This is due to the physical constraints of the rotomolding process: each mold produces only about 20 units per day (on a 24-hour shift). Producing 5,000 units requires 5 times the machine runtime of producing 1,000 units. Fixed production costs per unit — such as natural gas, labor, and equipment depreciation — remain essentially the same and do not decrease as volume increases.

For large orders, we can optimize in the following areas:

  1. Parallel Mold Strategy: For stable, long-term orders, we recommend adding more molds (e.g., distributing production across 3 molds simultaneously). While this increases upfront mold costs, it significantly shortens delivery lead time.
  2. Raw Material Sourcing: For high-volume orders, we can lock in bulk polyethylene (PE) pricing with our suppliers, achieving modest savings at the raw material level — though the savings are limited.
  3. International Logistics: Full container load (FCL) sea freight has a much lower per-unit shipping cost than sample or LCL shipments, which can significantly reduce your total landed cost.

Bottom line: Fixed production costs per unit (natural gas, labor, etc.) do not decrease with larger order volumes. However, we can shorten lead times and reduce shipping costs through optimized mold allocation and logistics planning. We recommend sharing your estimated annual volume so we can tailor the most competitive proposal for you.

What is your return or warranty policy?

We stand behind our products. We offer a warranty against manufacturing defects for a specified period. Our quality control process ensures that every product meets our high standards before shipping. If any issues arise, we work with you to resolve them promptly.
